THE 6 STEPS

Awareness is Key

Awareness Is Key

Mental health is an important part of our overall health and wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel, and act. Mental illness can range from mild to severe and can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or background. It is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of mental illness so that we can recognize when someone might need help.

Self-care is also essential in managing mental health as it helps us to take care of ourselves physically and emotionally.

Finally, it is important to accept change as it can often be a difficult but necessary part of life that allows us to grow and develop. Awareness is key in understanding mental health and how to support those who may be struggling with their mental wellbeing.

Stress Recognition

Everyone experiences stress in their lives, but it’s important to know how to recognise and manage it. Stress can have a negative impact on our physical and mental health if we don’t address it properly. The good news is that there are many positive coping strategies available to help us manage our stress levels.

In this course, we explore the difference between stress and anxiety, as well as look at what we can do to recognise and manage stress in our daily lives. We also discuss some effective positive coping strategies that can help us reduce the impact of stress on our wellbeing.

Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviours

Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviours

Our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are deeply intertwined. Our thoughts influence our emotions and our emotions can lead to certain behaviours. That’s why it is important to be able to recognise negative thinking patterns in order to better understand our emotions and behaviour.

The ABC Cognitive triangle is a useful tool for understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It can help us identify negative thinking patterns that lead to unhelpful or unhealthy emotions and behaviours. We can then take steps to challenge those negative thoughts and develop healthier coping strategies for dealing with them.

Resilience and Mindfulness

Resilience is an important skill to master in order to cope with life’s challenges. It is the ability to bounce back from adversity and keep going despite difficulties. Developing resilience requires us to cultivate certain habits and attitudes such as gratitude, active listening, and mindfulness.

Gratitude is a powerful tool for building resilience. Practicing gratitude can help us focus on the positive aspects of our lives, which will make it easier to cope with difficult situations. Active listening skills are also important for developing resilience as they help us better understand our own feelings and emotions, as well as those of others.

Mindfulness is also key when it comes to developing resilience. It teaches us how to be present in the moment and observe our thoughts without judgment or attachment. By practicing mindfulness we can build emotional intelligence which will help us better handle difficult situations in life with more ease and grace.

Resilience and Mindfulness
The 3 Pillars

The 3 Pillars

Sleep, exercise, and nutrition are the three pillars of a healthy lifestyle. Without these three elements in balance, we can’t expect to be at our best physically and mentally.

Sleep is essential for good health as it helps our bodies repair and restore themselves. Exercise helps us build strength and endurance while also improving our mental wellbeing.

And finally, nutrition is key for providing us with the energy we need to stay active throughout the day. Each of these pillars is equally important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and achieving overall wellness.

What Next?

Everyone experiences moments of self-doubt and anxiety. It is important to be aware of these feelings and take steps to develop self-belief. This can be done through addressing the inner critic, positive self-talk, and goal setting.

By recognising the inner critic, we can work on reframing our thoughts and developing a healthier relationship with our own minds. Positive self-talk can help us build resilience in challenging times and create a more positive outlook on life. Finally, goal setting can give us focus, direction, motivation, and purpose in our lives. With these strategies in place, we can start to build a strong foundation for developing self-belief.
